AOK Mentoring & Tutoring available to help elementary school students

Our mentor/tutors provide both homework and academic help, and social/emotional support. They are volunteers, and not necessarily professional educators or social workers. Students and mentor/tutors are matched based on the student’s needs and the volunteer’s area of interest and knowledge. 

OUR MENTEES:

• Can make good use of additional, dependable adult attention
• May need improvement in academics, behaviors, social development, and/or self esteem
• May be dealing with a stressful life situation (e.g. a seriously ill family member)
• Are often referred by their school, but can also be referred by parents or teachers.
  We are an official partner of the school system and as of 2/19/24 we are supporting 30% of HCPSS schools.
