Fall Volunteer Naturalist (Field Trip Hike Leader) Training

Volunteer Naturalists guide nature hikes and stream surveys for grades K-12 students during the fall field trip season, Sept. - Nov. Field trips usually take place on weekdays during school hours. Our fall training sessions are as follows: 

Elementary (Grades K-5)
Friday, September 1, 9-12: Grades K-2
Friday, September 8, 9-12: Grades 3-5

Secondary (Grades 6-12)
Thurs., August 31, 9-12: Watershed
Thurs., September 7, 9-12: Watershed

These training sessions will review the curriculum that volunteers need to assist with field trips at the Howard County Conservancy. There are also opportunities to shadow experienced leaders.  All that is required is a love of nature and working with children - we will teach the rest!
