Calling all writers, aspiring writers, or people with a story of motherhood to share! The “Listen to Your Mother” live event invites you to perform your 1,000-word essay on motherhood May 11 at Oliver’s Carriage House in Columbia, MD. All ages, genders, ethnicities and identities—as well as non-mothers—are encouraged to submit your words on any aspect of motherhood. We want the funny, the sad, the soulful, the poignant and everything in between.
We'll select 10 essayists to read their work at our live show in May. Each writer will have 7.5 minutes to share their work. Please read your writing aloud with a timer to ensure it meets the time cutoff.
