No Cost, Home Weatherization Upgrade Grant

This grant will utilize funds to make improvements to your home to help reduce monthly utility bills, improve home comfort and home indoor air-quality, as well as eliminate some health and safety issues. An Energy Assessment is performed on the home to determine what upgrades can be done by the grant to lower the energy bills. Upgrades may include attic insulation, air-sealing, duct-sealing, replacement or repair to cooling and heating equipment or water heaters, or replacement of older, non-energy star appliances. The grant pays the cost of the energy assessment and the upgrades.

Housing, Energy and Weatherization Assistance

The Community Action Council of Howard County (CAC) offers financial support to families that are struggling with electric and fuel costs through our energy assistance program. CAC’s weatherization assistance program permanently reduces energy bills by making the home more energy efficient. CAC’s housing assistance program provides one-time financial support to prevent eviction or assist with rent.
