Annual Coat Day

Mark your Calendars! You are invited to our Annual Coat Day. The Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc., Iota Lambda Omega Chapter, in partnership with Pearl Foundation Inc., and the Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc., Kappa Phi Lambda Chapter are excited to give the gift of warmth for this winter season!  We are giving away NEW coats, hats, scarves, gloves for men, women, and children (all sizes) on Saturday, October 14, 2023, from 9:30 AM - 12 PM, at the Wilde Lake Interfaith Center in Columbia, MD.

Triadelphia Ridge Elementary Retriever Run 5k and 1 Mile Fun Run

The Triadelphia Ridge Elementary School PTA is excited to host the Retriever Run Fundraiser for all students, families, and community members on Saturday, November 18th at 9am. This will be a fun school-wide event meant to bring the community together, show school spirit, and promote fitness. Participants may run or walk the course! Howard County Pride

On October 15, from 11 am - 4 pm, Howard County Pride returns with its annual PRIDE Celebration at Merriweather Park at Symphony Woods. This free, family-friendly event kicks off with a Kids' Music Box performance by the Baltimore Symphony Orchestra!
Vendors, Exhibitors, and Food Trucks will line the pathways and the Chrysalis stage will feature a variety of amazing performances!

-Family friendly activities:  Fire engine and ambulance tours, Junior Firefighter Challenge, Jaws of Life - see our volunteers cut up a car, learn about cooking safety, suit up like a firefighter/EMS, hands only CPR, blood pressure screenings, and  squirt the fire hose!

Be SMART for Kids

The Be SMART campaign focuses on education and awareness about child gun deaths and secure gun storage. Be SMART volunteers encourage parents and caretakers to “Be SMART” and take these five simple steps to help prevent shootings by children:

S- Secure (Secure guns in homes and vehicles) 

M- Model (Model appropriate behavior around firearms) 

A- Ask (Ask others if they have unsecured guns in the homes where your child spends time) 

R- Recognize (Recognize the role of guns in suicides) 

Wilde Lake Fall Festival

Join us for a fun day at Wilde Lake Park as welcome Fall 2023! The event will include several local school and area bands, dance performances, food trucks, games, face painting, moon bounces, community vendors and more!
