Monarch StoryWalk at the Middle Patuxent Environmental Area

In celebration of the fall Monarch butterfly migration, come out to the Middle Patuxent Environmental Area to enjoy a
StoryWalk®️ of Monarch Butterfly of Aster Way by Elizabeth Ring. The StoryWalk®️ runs from Friday, September 15 through Monday, September 25.

A StoryWalk®️ is a deconstructed children’s book made into signs placed along a trail where visitors can stroll and follow the story from page to page. Combine reading, physical activity, and family time in nature in a fun new way! Learn about the amazing journey of the Monarch butterfly while walking through the MPEA’s meadows and forest.

Free and self-guided. Trail starts at the Trotter Road main entrance kiosk. Trails are unpaved. MPEA is open everyday, sunrise to sunset.
