Help the Howard County Autism Society kick off Autism Acceptance Month on April 1, 2023 with Autism in the Park! The FREE event will be held from 10:00am-2:00pm at Laura's Place Playground, in the North area of Blandair Regional Park in Columbia, MD. Enjoy opportunities to visit with first responders, elected representatives, learn about the Autism community, enjoy interactive play, entertainers, face painting, music and food trucks.
Alternative Spring Break is a volunteer opportunity for community members to give back through several guided projects aimed at restoring our natural environment. This program runs a full week and provides activities such as: plant propagation, tree planting, rain garden maintenance and more! This program is open to all interested, those under 15 must be in attendance with an adult. From this program, students can receive volunteer hours necessary for graduation.
Come enjoy the best of Broadway musicals on ice alongside our incredible skaters who will delight you with their performances as characters from Frozen, Shrek, the Blue Man Group, Phantom of the Opera, The Chorus Line, Wicked, High School Musical, West Side Story, Matilda, Aladdin, The Gazillion Bubbles Show, The Lion King, and 9 to 5. Do not miss this family event which will be a fun display of beautiful choreography filled with jumps and spins, colorful costumes, and great music! Shows run on May 20 and 21 at 5:15pm/7:15pm (Saturday) and 4:30/6:30pm (Saturday).

HC DrugFree's Teen Advisory Council is open to all Howard County students in grades 8 through 12. This is a great opportunity to help prepare younger students for success in high school while allowing older students to develop their leadership and mentoring skills. The registration form is available at https://hcdrugfree.org/teen-advisory-council/ and community service hours are available.
Safe and convenient drive-thru medication & sharps disposal event will be held on Saturday, April 22 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the Wilde Lake Village Center Parking lot near the Swim Center. HC DrugFree is accepting prescription and over-the-counter medications, sharps (needles, syringes, EpiPens, etc.), vapes, inhalers, veterinary medication and more. Medication will be guarded/transported by HCPD and the DEA. Teen, adult, and medically trained adult volunteers wanted! Groups are encouraged to volunteer.
Join Hill City Church for a free children's event in celebration of Easter Sunday on April 9, 2023 at T. Howard Duckett Community Center and Park! Free health screening, interactive fitness activities, a blood drive for sickle cell disease plus mental and behavioral health resources are on tap for a Community Health, Fair April 15th from 10-3 pm at the North Laurel Community Center, 9411 Whiskey Bottom Road, Laurel, MD. Sponsored by the Continental Societies, Inc., Southeastern Howard/Laurel Chapter, the fair will feature activities for children and adults to promote caring for the whole body.
Join us on Saturday April 1st 2023 from 10am to 1pm at the Harriet Tubman Cultural center for financial literacy activities for youth ages 8 - 17. The youth will visit various stations and learn how to stay within budget. There will be adult activities also.
