Partner with your friends, scout troop, band, chorus, community group, business, neighborhood, or family to organize a Food Drive or participate virtually throughout May to benefit S.A.F.E. Food Pantry!  Earn service hours for helping people with food allergies. 

Volunteer for ARTreach

Volunteers needed for ARTreach on Saturday, June 4, 2022!

ARTreach is a fun, free one-day family festival at Long Reach Village Center. The event will feature live music, children’s performances, artist demonstrations, hands-on art activities, a photo booth, and more! Volunteers will help with event set up and break down, greeting and directing festivalgoers, facilitating hands-on art projects, and hospitality for the many performing and demonstrating artists, among other tasks.

AFS USA Looking for HoCo Host Families-AFS USA

Next school year, around 19 AFS exchange students from around the world will come to Howard County for a life-changing year.  You can help your family to learn about another part of the world!  Host families volunteer to provide room and board for a student and get to know a great kid. Exchange students attend your local high school. Students are available from countries around the world, such as Germany, Italy, Indonesia, Iceland, Portugal, and Spain.

ADHD, ASD, TS & Reading Disabilities Research Studies-Kennedy Krieger Institute

We are recruiting participants between 8 to 17 years old to participate in a research study to learn if there are differences between the brain’s structure and its function in children and adolescents with and without Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), Tourette Syndrome (TS) and Reading Disabilities.  

This is a great opportunity for children and adolescents to learn about research and play an active role in scientific exploration!

Teen Ambassador Program (TAP)-Meals on Wheels of MD

The Teen Ambassador Program (TAP) provides leadership experience, professional development skills, and service hours to incoming 9th-12th graders. Through TAP, participants learn about non-profits, advocacy, and using their personal voice. They participate in hands-on service in our kitchen and a final project to help further the mission of Meals on Wheels. Learning sessions and volunteering takes place at our main office in Highlandtown: 515 S. Haven Street, Baltimore, MD 21224. 

Girl Scouts

Is your daughter interested in making new friends, learning about the outdoors, and trying new things?  Girl Scouts is just the place for her and your family!  Our West Friendship Elementary School, Girl Scout Cluster offers friendships and fun for all girls K-5th grade.  This Spring, join us for a Father-Daughter Dance, Campout, and Mother's Day Tea Party!
