A Day of Giving: American Red Cross Blood Drive & Toys for Tots

During the holidays, blood supply needs increase along with bringing joy to thousands of less fortunate children.  In this spirit, Omega Eta Omega Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. is hosting a Blood Donor Drive in collaboration with the American Red Cross and the Howard County Office of Community Partnerships. Support of the North Laurel Community Center & Marine Corps' 'Tots for Tots'  Drive is included by requesting donations of new unwrapped toys in their on-site bin. 

Teen Advisory Council - HC DrugFree

HC DrugFree's Teen Advisory Council (TAC) is open to all Howard County students in grades 8 through 12.

TAC members learn life skills to help them become leaders and role models during the monthly meetings and can also participate in other volunteer events throughout the year.

Community service hours available for TAC meetings and other HC DrugFree events.

Walk For Our Stars 5K

The Cedar Lane School, PTA is celebrating the 25th Anniversary of Walk For Our Stars, a 5K run/walk event benefiting the students at the Cedar Lane School in Fulton, MD. The school services the special needs students, ages 3-21 throughout Howard County.

Meal Packing

Because we produce more than 40,000 meals a week, we need volunteers six days a week at our main office at 515 S. Haven St., Baltimore, MD 21224 to help pack meals and lend a hand in our kitchen. This opportunity is open to teens 14+. We welcome individuals and small groups.

BRAINY: Brain Recovery After INjury in Youth. Now Online!

We are recruiting youth, age 10-17, who have had a recent concussion and children, age 11-17, who have never had a concussion; for a research study about brain recovery after concussion, in relation to motor performance and brain connectivity. This study involves three visits over the course of 1 year & each visit can be completed online via Zoom, or in-person at Kennedy Krieger. Online visits last 1-2 hours & in-person visits last 3-5 hours.
